Another great show done and dusted and there are some interesting selections for this week’s show that I broke out just for the BBB audience. Yeah had some studio technical difficulties as well with me eating a lot of static while recording this.
I’m very happy that the NZ contingency of localized dance music production is getting there and I did play some new tracks last week including The Rollout with ‘Thor’ and Dejakal’s ‘Jackals ‘as well as Greg Churchill’s ‘Re-Mulched’ and Dan Aux! I feel sooooo inspired kids

Well the DJ rust sure didn’t last long as I was in my prime once again to rock the wheels of plastic live at Fleet Fm’s studios with my Homebrand Coco pops in one hand and my Skullcandy Sk’s in the other.
I introduced some new tracks from the likes of Danger! Jeff T, Kitchn Sync vs WoNK, Northie, Dan Aux along with some of the old school hits that makes The BBB show shine, I just wish my ass didn’t have to sleep on the fucking floor when I had to take a break for one hour!

Hey folks welcome to another edition of The BBB radio show for 2010 (twenty ten?) and its good to be back on Fleet FM to rock your pants and give you the real Dance music deal. Forget all those fake ass Djs in Auckland who get gigs on the regular and play the most boring of shits…….this is where its at!
Yeah I was a bit on the moody side last week because of domestic affairs at the home hence the DJ rust in my mixing, so please forgive me. Hopefully I will take upon the challenge of playing the freshest tunes to the dopest of listeners…..and thats not all.
As stated earlier…..I will be getting a Macbook this year and hopefully we’ll have a Ableton live on the fly session as I will time stretch, warp and re hash some classic tunes on the fly, that I will promise to you my fabled listeners.

The BBB show will return next week on Friday the 15th……yeah during the Big Ghey Out, I mean the Big Day Out. The show will now be an open format welcoming all forms of dance music……to a degree of course.
Expect more genres, more exclusivity of tunes, some special guest Djs (around the 1AM if they come in time of course) more dance music stupidity annnnnnnddddddddd seems as this is the 21st century with what I hope will be a regular feature on The BBB show………ableton live sets with Remixes on the fly, thats if of course I learn Ableton in time.

I just wanted to clear a couple of things up. Last Saturday around 12:00pm someone or somebody thought it would be a great idea to smash one of the CDJs and pretty much abuse and desecrate the Fleet FM studios. In fact a rumor has be spread around stating that it was the fault of the Friday guys…….well I’m one of them and there is no way in hell or high water that I along with the Friday crew should be blamed for this.
I come to Fleet FM for one reason and one reason only……..TO PLAY MUSIC!!!!!#@#@#$# I don’t come in drunk as fuck or anything like that, its my personal preference not to drink. Also I don’t damage private property neither….talking to the dickhead that left a gaping hole on the studio door.
So please…….be mindful of Fleet FM okay!

Yes this week will be the last show for the year and boy last eeks show was riddled with fuck ups starting with my Flash Drive being lost at DJ.T’s gig which had last week’s playlist. Don’t worry I wasn’t drunk or anything, it just flung out without saying goodbye. So the first half of the show is a half arsed recollection of tunes I played.
The second half is probably some stuff you’ve already heard, I mean it is a” Best of” for a reason, so if you have been following the radio show throughout this year, then you know what is the good shit from BBB.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Local Remixers from Auckland Starting with of course Dan Aux (Who promoters should actually pay for his services to Dance), Devil Theory, Awak and Chaos Dans Le CBD for their remixes, originals and edits that have been the glue to the show and Nerdy Frames. Also Fleet FM for allowing me to stay at the wee small hours when Auckland still holds the title for “Worst Public Transport of the decade” award and of course AD for practically everything including Elrv La Vamp, our new side project.
So what does the future hold for Conan……well firstly a brand new Macbook and pro tools for starters. Yes folks Im writing my own tunes because what’s the point of Djing anymore when the prime principal of Djing is not about the music, its about how many friends can turn up and egg on mediocrity.
Also production is more fun and it gives a person skills in audio and a edge which is why I’m soooo proud that the remixers and producers aforementioned above have got what it takes…….hopefully you can teach me a thing or 2.
Now I do want to be careful in encouraging Production to those who want to enter it………..otherwise it will be a huge smog of cacophony. The only encouragement that I want to champion is more women to enter dance music production……because we need more lady music producers, not more lady Djs!

Another day and another box of stolen pens…..nah only kidding. Last night’s show we (as in AD and I) debuted an unfinished track called ‘fucking up America’ from my side project Elrv La Vamp which I dubbed ‘Techno with slasher flicks’ as we used all the classic elements of techno and the awesome power of a Japanese powered 808 drum machine which AD programed and I did the 4 finger punk chords on the synths.
Other than that, this was a intelligent fanfare of italo house, disco, deep house, techno, acid and so on.
Elrv La Vamp will be working on another track in the new year and we’ll be cleaning up ‘Fucking up America’ with a dubstep version and a final version even though I hate dubstep and the DJs who play it……..but think of it as a cynical barb to an over saturated scene….besides we can’t be Djs forever you know.
On some sadder news……Panasonic have decided to cease production of the Technics 1200 as of February 2010, but rest assured that the Technics will forever live longer than any CDj out there on the market
